I need WATER.

July 21/2010 Cusco, Peru

I was back at the clinic today and so glad to be back. Today for some reason there is no running water in the whole clinic. We had to go across the street and have a cup of tea and some bread so that we could use the washroom. It made for a long day but is was also a good day.

On monday we sent a man to the hospital to have cataract surgery done and today he stopped by the clinic to say thank you.

On Monday night Dr. Kesty told us about this gentleman and how his surgery went. He was so excited to be having cataract surgery and even more excited after the surgery. Dr. Kesty told us that once he was done with the surgery the man got up off of the operating table and danced with all the nurses.

Today when he came in to say thanks we found out that this man had been told by his doctor for the last 20yrs that he couldn´t have cataract surgery because he was to old and had already lived his life. He told us that we had given him a new life.

Just another days work for us but a world of differnce for this man. What a joy this work is.
